So Many Rocks - Part 2

In my last post, I described some of what I came across on a recent hike. Since then I have returned to the site and have also done some extensive research. I have learned some pretty interesting things. If you haven't already, watch my video from the first exploration here.

Once again in the course of my exploring adventures, I have come across some unknown rock structures in the woods of Massachusetts. Did I find Native American ceremonial sites? Prehistoric ruins? Or just random rock formations left when the glaciers retreated from the area?

This week's adventure led me down another old road where I found another mystery.

Recently I explored a local conservation area and came across some interesting finds. Of course, I came across the standard colonial house foundation, chimney stack and all, But then the fun began.

In Deed

When I began my forays into the wide world around me, I would look for places with interesting names or histories. There is a trail guide of places around the City of Worcester that I stumbled upon and one of the trails was called "God's Acre or Deed Rock". Now if that isn't a title to rope you in.

The Worcester Coal Mine

Who would ever have guessed Worcester was once the coal mining mecca of New England? Okay, maybe it wasn't, but it did have a large coal mine, the remains of which can still be found today.

Cohasse Falls - An Exploration

A few weeks ago I decided to hike to a place I hadn't been to in over 30 years, probably closer to forty. I'll call this a destination hike as I had a specific destination in mind, Cohasse Falls in Southbridge, MA. And of course, I would see what I could find along the way.
